Feeling it today....

Sometimes I literally forget I have fibromyalsia. For the most part, I handle it through supplements and hot baths/heating pad. However, when the weather changes from hot or warm to rain/moisture or when it is really hot like in the summer, I really feel the symptoms regardless of the supplements. When this happens, the hot baths are what usually work really well. Unfortuantely, I can't run upstairs and take a hot bath in the middle of running a child care...lol!...no, not even at naptime because I'm afraid to leave them alone for too long. That's how emergencies happen.

In addition to the pain, are the sensitivity to sound and light. Just take a moment to think about that with regards to a house full of children. As far as the light goes, I just pull a few of the blinds down while leaving a few up. Dim lit rooms can dampen ones spirit. As for the noise, kids are kids and it can be extremely difficult to quiet them down. I must admit, I do have a very good group of kids. I try to explain to them that Ms. Lori is not feeling well and that using our inside voices is really important. They typically respond well to a simple "Shhh". Outdoor play helps tremendously...lol! Allows them to burn their energy and get it all out.

By end of the day, my grandson is pretty rumbundious with lots of energy and very, very loud. Not a lot to do with a 19 month old little boy...lol!...except look forward to his bedtime at 7:30pm so he can get up at 6:20am to begin all over again...lol!

Positive thoughts and prayers

I hope you feel better soon as well.

We have had lots of rain and cold weather and I can certainly tell that the little ones have not had a chance to burn off energy outside.

Do you think the stress about your mortgage made things worse for you? Does stress trigger fibromyalgia as well as other things? I hope you are feeling better soon. Chronic pain and noisy kids don't seem a good mix!

You do have such patience even when in a difficult situation.

Sniffles,

Yes it can be tough, but life goes on. I must life. Doctor said it is a debilitating disease. I refuse to allow it to take over my life. I fight and I fight very hard. It is a daily battle. Must do it. Lots of hot baths with my spa mat and bath salts and supplements.

Linda,

Absolutely. Stress makes it much, much worse. The mortgage situation is a lot of my stress. It's like living day to day, holding your breath, wondreing if you are going to make it or be out on the street. I hate it. I'm willing to make live adjustments, but for now it seems I am hanging in the wind just waiting for the bank to decide my fate. Horribly stressful!

The day care contributes a great deal to it because kids are just kids. I love kids, so I tolerate a lot from them.

I believe kids just need training in such a way that it will be beneficial to their lives even as adults. That is very rewarding for me. When I see a kid finally get it, it warms my heart. :-D

Slamdunk,

I truly know what you are going through! My prayers go out to you!...Lol Hang in there. The sun will shine again.

Momma Fargo,

It will pass. It always does. Can get truly scary at times, but it does pass. Thanks for the encouragement. It means alot to me!
